LG GC900 Viewty Smart starts shipping

The Korean manufacturer LG has confirmed that it will start shipping the cameraphone, the LG GC900 Viewty Smart later this month. The mobile phone will be heading to several selected markets within Europe.
All features are mainly concentrated around the 8.0 megapixel camera. The camera supports sensitivity up to ISO 1600, an Intelligent Shot Mode that will automatically analyze scenes and adjust camera settings accordingly. Other features are the LED flash – no xenon -, Multi-Face Detection up to three faces, Touch Shot, Art Shot, Beauty Shot, Panorama Shot and Continuous Shot. D1 video recording has been added to the camera including the possibility of recording in slow motion or high speed.
Furthermore it packs a 3-inch capacitive touch-display with WVGA resolution, accelerometer, 3G support, Wi-Fi and GPS. LG installed the S-Class 3D user interface including the multi-touch functions like zooming in the photo album, document reader and browser. Dolby Mobile technology is fitted into the music player and DivX/XviD support is available within the video player.
The GC900 is the direct successor of the LG KU990 Viewty which already sold more than 7 million units after its launch in November 2007. The Viewty Smart will get a follow-up at the end of this year containing a 12 megapixel camera including the same intelligent camera features.
