First Official BL40 Renders Released

LG’s next full-touchscreen Chocolate phone, dubbed the BL40 has finally received some official PR pictures. As with the earlier spy shots, it is apparent that the phone is unconventially long, sports a flash-equipped 5 megapixel camera on the back and what appear to be stereo speakers on the sides. The gloss is also there. What’s great here, though, is that we finally have some nice clear shots of the isometric icons-driven interface. The categories are a nice touch as well. Spyshots Part 2: LG BL40 Black Label Series

There we go again… Another set of spyshots have been unveiled showing the new 21:9 widescreen BL40 Black Label Series handset. The pictures don’t show anything new really. The working sample looks like its ready for market introduction, so LG please do so and let us know when the new handset hits the shops.

Oh one little thing. If you ever get the chance to shoot spy shots of a mobile phone make sure the phone is in the picture, that the shot doesn’t contain any information that is not related to phone itself and hold it in your hands in such a way that we all can “see” the phone…. Thanks

Spy shots: New LG BL42 Is Another Black Label Handset

The first pictures of the BL40 were spotted early today. They showed another brand-new device within the Black Label series laying next to the LG BL40. In only a few hours it has become clear that this is the BL42; a second Black Label series handset introduced next August.

There is not a lot that we know at this stage, but it looks like the BL-42 packs a 5.0 megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens, a micro-USB connector, UMTS-support and 150MB of internal memory. We expect that the device will have video recording, a microSD card slot, HSDPA support and things like Bluetooth, SMS, MMS and the option to sync your content. Oh yes, it is also capable of making a phone call.

Availability is unknown at this stage. The official introduction will be in August.

Spy shots: New LG BL40 Black Label Spotted In The Wild

The announcement is due for August, but we can show the first pictures of the new Black Label handset; the BL40. We saw this device before in a video published on YouTube. The spy shots published by telefon-treff show us the real deal.

The long chocolate look-a-like bar shaped phone runs the latest version of the S-Class UI. The 21:9 ratio widescreen touchscreen has a 800 x 345 pixels resolution and needed a different setup of the new UI. Especially because its aspect ratio. It will support GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA and packs a 5.0 megapixel camera with LED flash, video recording and several camera features. Wi-Fi, FM-transmitter and a FM-radio are available too. You even get 335MB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot.

One of the pictures shows a second device similar in design, but with a shorter display and shorter form factor. Rather interesting, perhaps there are two devices within the new Black Label line-up.

Promo Video of New LG Chocolate?

Seems to be a bit of an LG day today because we’ve spotted a wee video doing the rounds that purports to show the next gen LG Chocolate.

Is the video the real deal? We’re not 100% sure, but it does look pretty good. If the video is above board then the handset should have a 4″ screen, Wi-Fi, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, a-GPS, and a fairly decent camera by the looks of things. Watch for yourself then decide whether this is real or fake.

LG Develops Mobile Phone With 21:9-display

Hardly a few days after the first confirmation on a new Black Label series heading to the market, the first information unveiled itself. The new LG model is called BL40 (Black Label 40), a pre-production name likely to be converted into a “real” name like Chocolate, Shine or Secret.

The XML-document spotted by the guys at Tweakers.net indicates a brand new wide screen with a resolution of 800×345 pixels and 21:9 screen ratio. This 21:9 ratio is the first ever in a mobile phone. Even in the world of flatscreens only one supplier was keen enough to introduce such a display. The Cinema flatscreen TV from Philips supports the same ratio and is available on the market today.

The BL40 packs the Obigo-browser, a 5.0 megapixel camera and connectivity via GPRS, UMTS and HSDPA. We expect that the new Black Label series will run the S-Class interface available on the Arena, Crystal and Viewty Smart.
